Give a 5 to 10 minute presentation in front of the class on a piece
of art of your choice.
You may either bring in a physical work of art, or a reproduction of
an artwork.
Be sure to include the following in your presentation:
1. The artist(s), title, date, period/style, country/region
2. A short discussion of the formal analysis, iconography,
and context of the artwork and how it functions in the piece
3. Discussion of why you chose the artwork.
Why do you like it? What makes it interesting to you?
The point of this final assignment is to synthesis what you have learned in this class and use it to talk about a piece of art.
I encourage you to be creative in your presentation style. Dress up as the artist if you like, or speak as the artist's representative. Or you can pretend to be an art critic.
